This is not just another letter of recommendation for you to
read, it is my own personal story of my training experience
with Chad (CJ) and the life changing results I accomplished
within a short amount of time with him as my trainer. As I
sit here with a box of Kleenex typing this letter, my eyes
start to water as I think back to the beginning of when and
how this all started and how I look and feel today.
When I first sat down with CJ in January of 2008, I was
there for my gym consultation only and I did not want to
hear anything about training or the results I could
accomplish with him if I signed up for training. After all,
I had just ended 5 month’s of training at another gym and
had only lost 8 lbs during this time and had made my mind up
on trainers and what they could do. My impression of CJ at
first was, someone who just wanted clients and was going to
push all these supplements on me just like my old trainer
tried to do. I felt intimidated by him and was frustrated
when I left that night. Over the next few weeks, I had
watched him with other clients and his approach to how he
did things and decided to sit down with him one more time to
discuss training. I signed up for 3 months of training, he
wanted 6, but 3 was all he was going to get. At the time I
signed up with him, the Body Challenge 2008 was getting
ready to kickoff and he told me I had to sign up because it
was a part of my training. I was not happy with this and
did not want to do this but he insisted. During the first
weeks of training, I did not know what to expect, I was
nervous and felt uncomfortable because of my appearance and
weight, but none of that bothered him and away we went to
work on the new me. He is very dedicated to his work and
you as a client and soon I was as comfortable as could be.
I had no more hesitation about the decision I had made.
At the time of the Body Challenge kickoff, I had weighed in
at 218lbs and wore a woman’s size 20W pants. I was to the
point I did not want to get up from my desk at work and I
could see the horrified look on customers face’s when they
met me for the first time in person. My days of frustration
over my weight were soon going to be something that kept me
going for the next 3 months during the Total Body
Challenge.
Each phase of training consisted of something more
challenging. Per CJ’s request, I started to do cardio twice
a day 7 days a week. After day and night of being here, I
still could not see any difference on the scale, but he kept
telling me it was starting to show in my appearance and
other people were noticing. At that point he had me start
weighing my food and the pounds started to drop off. As
much as it showed on the scale, some days I would cry on the
way home and tell myself I could not do this anymore, but
somehow I found myself back each and everyday. He had been
there supporting me every step of the way and I did not have
the courage to let him down. By the end of the Challenge, I
had lost 38lbs and was in a size 14. I was the Women’s
Champion in the Challenge and ended up signing for 3 more
months of training.
At mid summers point, I was in a size 12 and able to wear a
2-piece swimsuit. In 6 month’s I had gone from a depressed
overweight Cindy to someone that I never new existed. I
became a happy, more confident person who still enjoys
working out every day. I never imagined that this could
happen the way it did, and it’s like I’m still waiting for
someone to pinch me and wake me up. Today, I am currently
in a size 10, and have dropped 7 pant’s sizes total so far.
I have a body that I have long desired and feel my health
has improved since my training. When I first started
training, I could not even run a minute on the treadmill;
today I can do 5 minutes or longer. I still train with CJ
and continue to enjoy every training session to the fullest.
All in all, from the bottom of my heart, I cannot ever thank
CJ enough for all he has done for me. I feel it was my
destiny to end up at this gym and meet this incredible
person who forever changed my life and turned me into a real
fitness nut. He has committed himself to me in my training
and diet and my goal has become his as well. He has used my
photo’s and still continues to use in his advertising for
his personal training and this means a lot to me that he
cares this much to share my success with others. I feel I
am one of the lucky ones to have him as my trainer, for he
has given me a new outlook on life and he can change yours
as well if you give him the opportunity. Everything he says
and does he has experienced in his own fitness training.
As my story comes to an end on paper, it still continues
each and every day of my life in person. He has taught me
how to adapt to my diet and exercise in my new lifestyle and
how to handle any rough patch I may encounter along the
way. If by now you are not convinced that he can really
make a difference for you, then it must not be in your
destiny to have your life forever changed by him.
