My story starts in
February 2009. I was in a dressing room trying on jeans…the
6th pair over a year’s span, and not because I found them
cute or on sale, it was a necessity. In that 1 year, I went
from a size 2 to a size 10, 110 pounds to almost 150, and,
worst of all, I was depressed about the whole thing. The
saleslady knew firsthand when I had an emotional breakdown
in said dressing room over the question, “would you like me
to bring you a 12?” Knowing very well I did NOT want the 12,
I took a detour to Anytime Fitness on the way home.
Signing up for a membership in and of itself seemed like a
great idea, but I was unsure about my commitment level. I am
a nurse in an ER working 12 hour shifts, sometimes up to 6
nights a week. I was pretty certain I would not go work out
after a long day on my feet, or I’d hit the snooze when that
alarm clock went off early until it was “too late” to work
out. That’s when I met Loren. Having someone depend on me
showing up brought me in that gym at least 3 days a week,
and working out as hard as I did with him on those 3 days
brought me in 3 extra days for more cardio…just so I didn’t
waste my time/money.
He gave me all the
tools I needed to make the necessary diet changes, and he
also made me accountable. It was 6 months of hard work, and
it was more than worth it. I fit back in my size 2 jeans,
which was my goal when we started…a goal that, at the time,
seemed unattainable in 6 months. I still have a little ways
to go and a little tightening up to do, but looking back on
my before pictures keeps me motivated to stay on track. Most
importantly, Loren taught me how to work out “smarter, not
harder” and educated me on lifestyle changes that will make
my future goals attainable.
I never would’ve
been able to do it alone…THANK YOU Loren.
